Score is LaunchPact’s 0–5 index of reach and openness: domain rating (up to 2), monthly traffic (up to 1.5), a dofollow link (0.75) and a free listing (0.75; free tier 0.5). Business directories count at 70% and other sites at 85%. Traffic is estimated monthly visits; AI cited is how often a directory was named in Google AI and ChatGPT answers. Orange notes show what a free listing asks for.
How to use this list
- Start with the launch platforms and directories your buyers actually browse, then the review sites in your category.
- Check the free route before you start: many want their badge or a link on your site, and a few want you to comment on or upvote other launches.
- Book free launch weeks early. The good weeks on popular launch platforms go first.
- Skip directories that are not built for software, however high their domain rating.
Write one submission kit and reuse it everywhere:
- Product name and website
- A 60-character and a 40-character tagline
- A one-line description of about 150 characters, and a longer one
- A square logo, a share image and three or four screenshots
- Pricing in one line, plus your categories and tags
- A contact email you check, and a short maker bio
Directory links are a small part of SEO; the free backlinks guide covers what a link is actually worth.
Where directories fit in a launch
Directories keep a product findable after launch day. The launch day itself usually happens somewhere else: see what Product Hunt is, the Product Hunt alternatives, and the top Product Hunt launches of each month.

A handful are. Directories with a real audience of buyers can send early visitors, and a few high-authority listings help a new site get found. Most of the rest send little traffic, so pick the ones where your buyers browse and treat the others as a single afternoon with a ready-made kit.
In this list, 84 are free, 78 have a free tier and 29 are paid only. Many free routes ask for something in return: 39 want their badge or a link back on your site, and some launch platforms ask you to comment on or upvote other launches first.
A dofollow link passes ranking signals to your site; a nofollow link asks search engines not to. 184 of the 191 directories here give a dofollow link. A link only helps if the page it sits on gets crawled and indexed.
From minutes to months. Some directories list you right away; others take 48 hours, 2 to 4 weeks, 30 to 90 days or up to 180 days on free plans, and free launch weeks on popular launch platforms book out weeks or months ahead.
It is a launch platform: products compete on one day’s leaderboard instead of sitting in a permanent list, and Product Hunt’s team picks which launches are featured. It sits in this list because founders use it the same way, as a place to get a new product seen.
One kit you reuse everywhere: name, a 60- and a 40-character tagline, a short and a long description, a square logo, screenshots, one-line pricing, categories and a contact email. Most forms ask for the same fields, so writing them once keeps every listing consistent.
